Author Biography

  • Agnieszka Nowakowska, Akceptacja4FM.Lab, Warsaw, Poland

PhD in Medical Sciences – psychologist and certified psychotherapist in the existential analysis and logotherapy approach. She is a graduate of the first Polish edition of the existential analysis training, which she co-created and co-organized. Co-author of Acceptance Training: 4FM and the Theory of Existential Solitons. For years, she has been an enthusiastic advocate of the existential approach as a method of treating mental disorders, not merely a form of meaning-oriented counseling. She served for many years as President of the Polish Association for Existential Psychotherapy. Professionally affiliated with Nowowiejski Hospital and the Dialog Therapy Center. Long-term academic collaborator with the Medical University of Warsaw and SWPS University. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of the effectiveness of existentially-based interventions supporting the treatment of relational trauma and other mental disorders. A firm advocate of the view that phenomenology-based methods are measurable, effective, and meet EBM criteria. Privately, an admirer of Italian culture and cuisine — in her free time she bakes, cooks, and plans her next trips to the Apennine Peninsula. Quite content with life — a wife and mother.
